The opening of the John T. Richardson Library Information Commons provides us with new opportunities to highlight the scholarly and creative work of the DePaul University faculty. Complementing our new collection of faculty publications available in the re-modeled Haber Lounge is our faculty art program, which will bring new examples of faculty artwork into the Information Commons each year. Among the faculty whose works are displayed in the Information Commons for 2013-14 are Assistant Professor Zack Ostrowski, Associate Professor Chi Jang Yin, Professor Mary Ann Papanek-Miller, and Vincent de Paul Professor Bibiana Suarez.
“The beautiful new Information Commons in Richardson Library is not only a center for study and research, but also an accessible venue for the display of artwork by members of the Art, Media, and Design faculty at DePaul. The works on view are varied in medium and subject, indicating the broad range of approaches practiced and taught, and together they allow the university community to understand visual arts as one of several ways to explore and document human experience.”
--Louise Lincoln, Director, DePaul Art Museum
“The participating permanent faculty of the Department of Art, Media, & Design are pleased to share their selected art works with the Richardson Library and the entire University community. The Richardson Library is a central and visible locus of DePaul University and it provides a unique platform from which to display our scholarly works, with the hope of provoking dialogue across disciplines among the diverse members of the University.”
-- Mary Ann Papanek-Miller, Professor and Chair, Department of Art, Media, and Design
