Chrome for a Cause

by Chris Diaz 12/17/2010 2:47:00 PM
Google Chrome IconIn the spirit of giving, Google launched an add-on to its internet browser, Google Chrome, last Wednesday that converts every open tab into a donation to one of five charities. At the end of each day, you can choose for Google to donate to either The Nature Conservancy (ecological preservation projects), Charity: Water (clean and safe drinking water to developing nations), Doctors without Borders (health care for countries in need), Un Techo Para Mis Pais (housing for the homeless), or Room to Read (literacy education initiatives). For instance, opening ten tabs leads to the planting of a tree or the donation of a book. Now through the end of this weekend (12/15 – 12/19), you can install the free add-on and support any of these causes. It’s literally as easy as the click of a mouse. You can download the program here. Happy clicking!
